Scheduling a Mediation
To schedule a mediation:
First, decide whether it will be a facilitative mediation or a settlement conference mediation and click the link entitled "Request a ___________" to download our intake form. Fill it out completely and follow the instructions for submission and payment below.
Facilitative Mediation
- All parties in one room together
- Two trained mediators (not attorney-mediators)
- Results determined by clients; mediators are not directive
- Mediators facilitate dialogue but do not make settlement recomendations
- Attorneys rarely participate; when they do it is in a supportive role, not an advisory role.
- Cost is $180 per party

Settlement Conference Mediation
- Shuttle style with parties usually in two seperate room
- One attorney-mediator who is directive and evaluative
- Attorneys actively represent their clients in the negotiations
- Presence of attorneys is required by Pierce County Local Rules (PCLR)
- Cost is $240 per party

Next, submit the form to PCCDR Reception in any of the following ways:

Arrange to make your payment. Once both parties have paid, the mediation scheduling process can begin (please see page 2 of the intake form for details).
